Sexual Harassment
This is a form of sexual discrimination that ranges from demands for sex to
secure or protect your job through the creation of an intolerable work environment through sexual
intimidation or through continual harassment on the job.
The more obvious sexual harassment situations include demands for sex in order to get
a job, keep a job, or to get a raise or promotion. Whether you refuse the advances and then experience
adverse conditions on the job, or you succumb to the advances for fear of losing your job or position, it
may amount to sexual harassment.
If you have to put up with sexual jokes, comments about your anatomy, sexual advances,
catcalls, sexually offensive advances, contact or intrusions, whether it adversely affects your job or not,
this may amount to sexual harassment.
In a sexual harassment case, you may be able to recover back pay, future damages, interest,
damages resulting from emotional distress, punitive damages and your legal costs.
